Our hands-on Beekeeping Experience invites you to suit up, light the smoker, and look directly into the golden, secret world of the hive alongside Mike, our resident beekeeper. Whether you are a curious nature lover, an aspiring backyard keeper, or looking for an unforgettable weekend adventure, this is your chance to overcome the fear and discover the magic of bees safely.

Experiences are 1 hour and are held by appointment only to ensure they are intimate and personalised.
Price is for 2 people, to a maximum booking of 4 people. All participants must be 16 years or older.

Our approach to honey production is deeply rooted in quality and tradition: we harvests the honey in small, seasonal batches and ensures it remains raw to preserve all of its natural goodness and beneficial properties.
This meticulous process results in premium honey with unique and changing flavour profiles that authentically reflect the different floral seasons of the beautiful Hunter Valley region.

Your experience breakdown
Welcome & Hive Briefing - We will get you completely suited up in professional protective gear and run through a comprehensive safety briefing.
The Art of Smoke - Learn the traditional method of lighting a bee smoker using raw, natural materials. Discover how smoke naturally calms the hive, and practice puffing the smoker yourself before we step into the apiary.
The Deep Hive Inspection - The main event. Together, we will gently open a bustling hive. You will hold frames heavy with fresh honey, identify pollen stores, spot developing larvae, and hunt for the elusive Queen Bee. Keep your phone handy (this is the ultimate photo opportunity). You will at this point harvest fresh Honey Comb to take home with you.
Finally, Gourmet Honey Tasting - Step out of the suits and give your senses a treat. We will host a curated tasting of our seasonal single-origin harvests paired with a local sparkling.
Note: As we are a bee first apiary, our Beekeeping Experience is weather dependent. We will advise you as soon as possible if your experience will need to be rescheduled.
